An excerpt from FOOTSTEPS IN THE ATTIC, by Paul F. Eno

From "In the Dark" Page 113

I saw it with jolting suddenness, only about ten feet away. It was tall, glowing and shimmery, like a figure made of plasma. There was only a thin, whitish blankness where a face ought to have been, but I could clearly see its arms. I’m not afraid of these things, and they know it. As I continued to approach, the entity bolted to the right and vanished into the blackness. I chased it for a moment, but where or when it had gone, I obviously couldn’t follow. The whole experience lasted about four seconds.

To have such a vivid encounter with the culprit, or one of them, right off the bat like this is unusual. On the rare occasions that I’ve actually seen parasites, they looked exactly like what I had just met. And it tipped me off to one thing: Whatever else was going on here, at least one of these miserable beasts was lined up at the buffet table at the expense of this family. My only regret so far was that I hadn’t been quicker with my camera! But I’d remedy that later in the case.
